Tom Brook
Trumpet
Thomas Brook is a 4th year undergraduate student at the Royal Northern College of Music studying classical trumpet with Dave Hooper, and Jazz Trumpet with Ian Dixon. He has had the privilege to have been taught by expert trumpeters such as Mike Lovatt, Murray Grieg, Garath Small and Tracey Redfern. Thomas has developed a passion for Jazz whilst studying at RNCM and is taking Jazz classes with Geth Grifith and Steve Berry. He has led his own Jazz quintet and is currently leading a Jazz Quartet.
Thomas has experience performing with a wide range of ensembles and is particularly passionate about Big Bands and playing popular music. He has performed regularly with Manchester Big Band and various student-led big bands at the RNCM. A recent popular music highlight has been performing in session orchestra with Tim Burgess and Kendal Calling Festival. Performing with St Albans Jazz Ensemble is also a highlight and provides a wealth of improvising experience and collaboration. In his spare time, Thomas enjoys going to Jazz Jams at Jazz clubs and working on his Classic Car.
